Because Western Springs is the western-most city in the near western suburbs of Chicago (within Cook County), it sometimes appeals to those families who must live in Cook County for political reasons or job reasons. It's conveniently located just east of and adjoining Interstate 294 (the Tri-State Tollway). It's a scenic town, featuring old growth trees and custom homes ranging from turn-of-the century to new construction. Western Springs schools are excellent. The entirety of Western Springs is serviced by Lyons Township High school (with campuses in LaGrange and western Springs).
